Cooly Rocks On is Australia's largest nostalgia festival celebrating the motors, music and lifestyle of yesteryear. Festival operators Major Events Gold Coast enlisted us to refresh the festival identity to better reflect the eras in question, and to bring the creative up to par with other events in their portfolio.
As the master art team, our goal was to create a design system that would be intuitive and easy to implement for other teams down the creative pipeline (in-house designers, digital marketers, web designers and so on). With an illustrated hero piece to lead the 2022 direction, we fleshed out the brand identity with a generous helping of icon designs, era-inspired type lockups and texture packs. We topped it all off with a comprehensive brand guide that would ensure future teams could maintain the integrity of the brand identity as new assets were developed.
